KISS - Hotter Than Hell Tour - Live @ Winterland Ballroom 1975 -
01.06.05, 07:40 AM
Hi,
This is my first post to this board. In my opinion, This is one of the finer quality earlier shows in black & white. This was pro shot at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco, California on January 31, 1975 during the "Hotter Than Hell" Tour. I'll post the setlist later, but you should already be familiar with KISS's first two landmark albums anyway!! Enjoy the show folks!!

I was thinking about posting this one sometime soon too! Beat me to it!
This is a GREAT show!
If you've seen Exposed, the Deuce video from that is the first song on this show. The quality is VERY good for 1975!
Van Halen is nothing without David Lee Roth!

this must be linked to somewhere else, or people are emailing the torrent file because there are only about 85 views of this page, but there are 125 leechers...
I like Van Halen more than you.

You're very much welcome!! Well, I guess you guys were hungry for some classic KISS . I've been searching for some of these myself and once I got my hands on them I thought that I could share the wealth. Once this one is established I was thinking about posting the KISS show from the Love Gun Tour in Tokyo, Japan 1977. It's of great quality as well. May the mighty Gods of Rock live on!! BTW, Here's the set list for the Winterland Ballroom show:
# Deuce
# Strutter
# Got To Choose
# Hotter Than Hell
# Firehouse
# Watchin' You
# Parasite
# 100,000 years
# Black Diamond
# Cold Gin
# Let Me Go Rock n Roll

Thank you very much KuroishI!!! My friend is a huge fan of Kiss (I'm just "'eh") so he'll really enjoy this.
This begs another question...... Where can you find good Kiss DVD torrents?

Easy tree always has a few KISS DVD's kicking around.
I already have this on DVD so i wont be needing it. VERY nice post because this is a great show.
I just finnished making up a DVD a few days ago. " KISS Exposed 2 Outtakes" Its made up of rare video footage from the 80's and 90's without makup. Interviews and live footage. All good stuff. Much of it is shot by someone following them around back stage and around the citys they were in.
All VERY personal stuff not ment to be seen. More for there own personal use and memories.
I'll seed it this weekend.

Just being curious, since this is from an MPG would it be outta line to convert it to DVD and trade? I assume it is OK for me to convert to DVD for my own viewing but what about trading?

That's a great question, Frank. I would think that the hard-core trade community would look down on authoring a DVD of this for trade. I authored a DVD of this...I really dont trade anyway...I dont know enough about video encoding to say what happens when you go from mpeg to DVD, but there probably is some data compression (and loss) when this is done.
I like Van Halen more than you.

Don't do it -
01.11.05, 08:06 PM
This is an MPEG-1 VCD file. It can be burned to a DVD without re-encoding it, but it's never going to look better than it does as the raw MPEG file. DVD-quality MPEG files are MPEG-2 encoded and decent files are at bitrates of 4Kbps or higher. The resolution of DVD files is 720x480, 704x480, or 352x480. The resolution of an MPEG-1 VCD file is 352x240 (so half the resolution of a DVD) and a bitrate of 1150kbps.
Anyone you trade with who expects a DVD-quality show will be really irritated to get this VCD-quality show. I know, as it's happened to me in two different trades. The traders didn't understand any of this and the "DVD" they had was really just a DVD-R with this VCD file on it.

KuroishI: Thanks for the great concert! To bad VH didn't have the marketing ability/foresight to be recording their early concerts in the smaller venues
caesarkent: Thanks for the info! I have been converting a lot of MPG format discs to DVD, but I guess it is a waste of blank media .

If by "MPG format" you mean VCD-quality, then yes (although you can fit six or more VCD videos on one DVD, which takes up less physical space). But you gain nothing video-wise by converting them.
