Here's my first DVD seeder for you all. It's the Much Music version if I remember correctly. Converted from the VHS I taped.

What can you tell me/us about the video quality? How did you do the conversion? (equipment, etc...) The size seems small for an hour (or more?) of DVD quality video. How is the audio encoded? LPCM or AC3? Stereo or Mono?

I have a Pinnacle Studio Dc10? capture card. Hifi vhs to capture card. You'll never get DVD quality video from a VHS tape so I guess the video is the same as the VHS tape. Someone might have a better version out there. There's only 12 songs. I believe the audio is either PCM or just mpeg-1 2 channel stereo. Did this awhile back but I'm pretty sure its the later. Don't have anything to encode to AC-3 with sorry(wish I did) . Hope that answers your questions. Understand you looking for the best version. That's whats nice about these torrent sites, sooner or later we'll all end up with the best versions

The nice thing about it, is that it is relatively small compared to the other shows, being only 1Gb !

It's a fantastic show. I thought the band seemed so relaxed and comfortable on this tour, and I loved Ed's tone and just, well, relaxed way of playing.

I quickly watched Mean Street, and the Year To The Day solo. The solo in that is a cracker, so amazing !!!

He just looks like he's having so much fun !!!

FYI: I've burned this to DVD and looked at it. The video is MPEG 1 encoded, (352x240 VideoCD), not DVD resolution. The bit rate is very low (about 1.2Mbps) and the picture is pretty full of compression artifacts. Audio is good. Good to have this show for the extra songs not shown on the MTV version. Just don't make this your only Sydney DVD. Thanks MrFingers.

I loved Ed's tone and just, well, relaxed way of playing.

I'de have to aggree. That tour is about as close to 1984 that Eddie has ever come as far as his guitar talent. For some strange reason he was the "real" EVH during that tour. Ive seen this show and the full show, nothing missing.
It takes only a few songs to relize that on that tour Eddie was back.. In all his glory. I have a feeling that Eddie may be more himself when things are new, fresh. Most of us may not consitter Gary to be the greatest thing for VH, but if hes the fresh reason that Eddie was 100% back that tour..

Hat's off to him.

ironically enough, this is definitely one of my favorite shows...i really didnt care too much for gary, but they played some great old shit during this tour...ed's tone is amazing!! the intro on mean street is bad ass!! sounds just like the album version....

Download the torrent, then you can use a software DVD player like PowerDVD or WinDVD to open all of the VOB files, and view the DVD on your computer. This will will work, unless someone chooses to post the DVD in the "easier" format - an ISO image. If they do that, you'll have to figure something else out... I don't know if a software player can do the job or not, ISOs are a pain in the F*ckin' ass to work with.

If you have a DVD burner, you can just burn all the files you downloaded into the VIDEO_TS folder on a new DVD layout and burn, and you're ready to go. An ISO can just be burnt to the disc... but you may have issues. 20-30 % of DVD players on the market will glitch out on ISO images. I have 2 players at home that won't even read an ISO image burned disc.

dvd decryptor will help out with the iso versions...it can burn it to dvd for you automatically regardless of what format it is in...

Yeah, burning the ISOs is no problem... I'm concerned with the people who may want to watch the DVD, but don't have a compatible player or a DVD burner. The VIDEO_TS folder can be queued up in a software DVD player and viewed on the computer... Can you do that with an ISO??? I'm not sure, I've never even tried
