I have this mentioned in my "how-to" thread, but I would like to post it here as well, if you don't mind TJ.

DBPowerAmp Music Converter: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm

And...

All the audio conversion codecs you could need for it: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central.htm

Using this program, you can convert to/from virtually ANY commonplace audio format - including the new lossless formats, change bitrates on MP3s, etc. VERY versitile program - I HIGHLY recommend having it installed with all the common plugins (Flac, Shn, MP3, MP3 (lame), Wav, etc). For those of you using the FLAC frontend - I would suggest perhaps trying this as an alternative. I've found it to be faster, more reliable, and (as hard as this is to believe) easier to use. You just select the files you want to convert... pick your output format... click convert - it couldn't be simpler.

That's just my opinion, but it's worth giving a looksee... This program CAN'T remain freeware for long - it's just too powerful and simple

Mine too I always see people asking about bitrates and how to open/convert a (fill in audio extention here) file. This program should easily take the confusion out of that much. Starting to use BTs is like internet/forum culture shock. It's a bit different, so I figured the easier we can make things, the better off we'll be.

Well, I'll throw up a couple that I use.

ABC [ Yet Another Bittorrent Client ] http://pingpong-abc.sourceforge.net/

And to listen to FLAC files without Winamp: http://foobar2000.blogsite.org/ - make sure you also download the FLAC plugin from there as well.

That torrent client is pretty good as well

I stuck with Bit Tornado in my how-to because it's easier to get everyone using a universal program when they're first starting. I think ABC is probably a little more versitile, but I was more familiar with BT, so I could make more accurate instructions.

That little Player link you posted is pretty nifty. I don't really have a need for the program, as I use Nero 6 for playing, burning, editing, all that cool stuff. But I had never seen that one you posted before. Really simple and very effective - pretty neat! Good link bro

The key to all torrent clients tho is making sure that you give as much as you take (if not more). Don't set the max uploads to 0 or the max u/l kbps to 0...common sense to most, but some leechers never learn.

I wouldn't quite say common sense... to some, yes... but a lot of the folks here thus far are brand new to Torrenting, so that is a very good point. I have mentioned before that it's important to try to keep your d/l and your u/l rate proportional to each other... It's good to hear someone else say it too Thanx for the input bro
