Post NICKELBACK Frontman: 'This Is A Great Part Of Our Career' - 05.17.18, 08:43 PM

Earlier this month, Canadian rockers NICKELBACK sat down with Leona Graham just before their intimate concert for lucky Absolute Radio listeners to discuss a number of subjects, including the story of how "Rockstar" was banned, their latest album, gig mishaps, playing in bands with their kids and much more. You can now watch the chat below.Asked what is next for NICKELBACK once the band completes its "Feed The Machine" touring cycle, guitarist/vocalist Chad Kroeger said: "We haven't really gotten that far. I'm sure at some point in time, someone's gonna pressure us to go make another album, and we'll probably do that, and we'll kind of just keep doing what we're doing. We're just having fun. "There's no pressure," he continued. "This is a great part of our career, because we don't have to go on press tours and we don't have to get up at six o'clock in the morning and show up with our acoustic guitars at radio stations and beg people to play our music. We don't have to do that stuff anymore. It's great. Now we just kind of get up in the middle of the afternoon, show up at the arena whenever we want to, go to catering, have something to eat, warm up a little bit, get on stage, sing our songs, and then it's rinse and repeat. We go to the next city and just have fun."Pointing out how "the banter is pretty relaxed and it's chill" during NICKELBACK concerts nowadays, Kroeger went on to say that "we get it, because we've seen so many shows ourselves."I recently went and saw Billy Joel," he revealed. "What a show! Amazing! He's just so… That stage is like his living room. And the way he talks to the audience, and he just got everybody laughing their ass off. And when you see that, and when you feel that comfortability, you become comfortable."You notice when you watch somebody on stage and you can tell they're nervous, then suddenly you feel uncomfortable. But when someone's just really relaxed, then suddenly you are relaxed."NICKELBACK's ninth album, "Feed The Machine", was released in June 2017 via BMG.
