Does the Don Kirshner's So This Is Love video mention "Got me a brand new Oakland Scarf right here" in the beginning of the video?

I am trying to figure out what I have on this video tape I found from 1984-85. Looks like it is Dave on Friday Night Videos doing an 8 minute interview insisting that he is "ready to head back into the studio argue the way back into the top 10" with the rest of Van Halen, which we now know did not happen. I have an interview witb Dave on Good Morning America in which he discribes what a Van Halen Show is like. There is an Entertainment Tonight Enterview, The 1985 Memorial Dave "David Lee Roth Weekend" from MTV on which I found really these really great videos of an Oakland Performance. I was wondering if they are from the Don Kirshner list you mention on this thread.

Looks Like MTV only played three live performance vids and there all here of the Oakland Show on that DLR weekend. I may try and put the interviews with all the Rothisms in there into something. These little interviews show snippets of the Frank Sinatra vid that Ed and Dave appeared in, as well as Dave's ochestral conducting appearance on the Amadeus video. Problem is that in these DLR weekend interviews Dave had reached a point where he never mentioned the group Van Halen. As I recall this was before it was officially over between them. It is making me relive a dark chapter in Van Halen history watching this stuff. The only other somewhat rare music vid I know I have of Dave is Loco Del Calor. I think it is the only video he made from Sonrisa Salvaje. That of course is post VH and I am not sure how that fits in with the spirit of this forum.

I will dust that Loco Del Calor vid off and pull it down to my Hard drive. I always thought the spanish version of that album had a meaner and more edgy sound to it. Especailly Arma de Caza Mayor. Now that would be another band line up (Billy, Steve and Greg) I would not mind seeing Dave reunite with.

While we're on the subject of rare Dave era material...didn't MTV put together a special following around the winner of the "Lost Weekend" contest in 198? or is my memory foggy?

Someday we'll have to stage a covert op. to the MTV archives and liberate a few things.

I have just about every VH video that's out there but I have never seen this spanish video (Loco Del Calor) vid by Dave. Can you encode this into a high quality MPEG (DVD quality) file & post it someplace?? Maybe I could add that to a future/new DLR compilation?? I have all of Dave's other videos in mint quality & could make a nice comp :thumb:

I had only seen this video broadcast once on MTV. I can't find my original tape, but I found another where I copied it to along with the other Eat Em and smile vids. I can't promise it will be anything close to Mint. However it is what I have at the moment. Let me try to get a decent file out of it. Right now I am suffering from another problem that kept me from seeding something the other night. More later
