Also - this show was pulled previously - as it is avaliable to buy from HMV and even WH SMITH in the UK

AFAIK, the company who is publishing this (and many other) dvd is called SHO MASTERPLAN. It is known bootleg/pirate company which has released several unauthorized DVD´s from such artist like Queen, Rainbow, Deep Purple etc... Just google the company´s name and you´ll find the info. And if this is indeed an official release, don´t you think that it would have been mentioned at the Whitesnake´s official webpage/discography... :confused:

To put a point across, Ive been in the music business on both sides for many years now (20+) and a lot of bands do not own the rights to earlier releases. For example, I know 2 official Thin Lizzy releases on DVD that are not 'backed' by any band member.

These companies buy older recordings - usually from TV companies and release them. You will find that HMV, Virgin, WH Smith and other companies in the UK WONT SELL BOOTLEGS !

Most bands call these unauthorized releases - but in fact, no laws have been broken.

You will also find that a lot of bands do not own the rights to a lot of their earlier material!

Another thing you may of over looked Detroit1 is the fact that what you have seen could of been a bootleg of an official release by once company. I forget the times I have seen the same DVD released in different covers by different people. I mean - how many times have we seen Van Halen Live in New Haven on a bootleg!

I actually have a copy of the DVD I purchased today from a legit outlet next to me. It has copyright on it, and looking at the company who released it - it is not the same as the one you think it is - but it is the same show.

Another point is JTT would not exist for long if we circulated material like this - the plug will soon be pulled. At the moment as we 'trade' non-official footage, the bands turn a blind eye to this.

If you want to get 'exact' about copyright/bootlegs etc we shouldnt really be trading ANYTHING as the songs have copyright and publishing rights.

So its best to keep a clean bill of health....

ON A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT TOPIC....

I would like to make a point with other members. At the moment the JTT feedback system doesnt work. Members who trade official things, or continually try and seed official releases NEVER get a negative remark. Much the same as eBay other members are probably too scared to leave a neg remark incase they get one back.

For instance, the Metallica 08 footage thats been pulled now, Ive used bandwidth and reduced my ratio for a partly downloaded 'useless' data.

Dont get me wrong - I am one of the people who has not left a negative so another user, but dont you think we all perhaps should start?

Again - my two cents ! Anyone else got an opinion on the feedback system - or how it could be improved for all of our benefit? Not trying to start an argument here - but a discussion!
