Damn, all these great shows i dont have. The sad thing is that my ULing will never ceatch up to my DLing at this rate.. lmao. And if i wait to long, the show's would be gone. Would be nice to have the same UL bandwidth as my DL. Hmm, maby if we all seeded for a minum of a week every show, Then get others to seed.. we could keep the shows on the board for a solid 3 or 4 weeks. What do you all think? ..i'm game for it. :thumb:

If you want to know the truth, I'd rather just let the flow happen... I can testify to my diligence towards collecting these boots, and to this board. If the show is posted, even if only a handful of people get it...that's a handful that can now seed the show later for others... it will only grow. I don't think it will ever be a major problem finding help to get the shows you want.

Are you on DSL? The disparity between my UL and DL rates is horrible, too. I find myself trying to make up for the difference by spreading the shows through trades for blanks.

I'm definitely jumping on this one. It took me seven hours to drive to the show. :rock:

I am not real sure how all of this works--but I have DSL at work and have just left these running untill I have no other uploads going--we don't use our connection that much here at work--and seeing as how I am "The Boss" ..I do what I want anyhow. I had the 83 Brazil show running for about 3 weeks I think! I just don't understand any of the ratings stuff. But I really do THANK THE BRAINS BEHIND THIS SITE! I am from that very old school--back when the boys were just starting--so seeing and listening to things that I have not seen or heard for years....well...kinda gets me feeling young again. Yes Red Rocker, I am. I'm 120kB/s UP and about 680kB/s DOWN.
As you can see my ULing cant keep up with my DLing. The thing is, im also DLing other stuff on other clients, So that means my UL is shared with others as well. Not just us in here. 120 don't go far when its all spread out.
Things will even out later, once im caught up with most of it. :yay:

On the flip side, I subscribe to the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" theory. I've been using bitTornado for quite a while now and don't seem to have the problems that other people experience. Maybe the latest versions are buggier or something (I'm not running the latest and greatest) but it seems to work well for me. Plus (IMO) Java is a pig. :)

Agreed. I have used, and still can use, Bit Tornado with no problems. The Java doesn't really bother me... just more of an annoyance...but I've learned to ignore that it's running. You're right, if it works, keep using it. That's why switching clients is my first suggestion to solving problems.

One big advantage with Azureus is that it directs all bit torrents to the same port, if I'm not mistaken... Bit Tornado needs a completely separate port for each application runing... this can be a pain for those running firewalls or routers if they want to connect to more than one torrent at a time.

You, Ron, have gotten some great shows out with Bit Tornado... I don't think you'll hear any complaints about it from anyone...especially not me ;)

One big advantage with Azureus is that it directs all bit torrents to the same port, if I'm not mistaken...

If you have a router/firewall you would have to foward one port for Azureus, port 6881 to your internal IP address on your network. You can assign any port actually, you can change it. But only one port needs to be fowarded. It's easier just to set up port triggering, which is basically automatic port fowarding. So when you start Azureus the port needed opens automatically, when you close Azureus so does the port. Different routers have different time out limits for when to close the port after it senses no traffic on the port.

As for Java, I don't notice it running for me to have to ignore it, I don't get any taskbar icons saying it's running. My CPU usage sits at 3% when Azureus is doing it's thing. I don't consider it a pig at all, 3% is nothing.

I agree, java is n/p at all on my PC eather. My CPU load sits at 6% to 21% with all the shit i have running 24/7. I have Azureus, 2 Hub's, BlackICE, Norton 2004, Shareaza and my FTP server. I never notice this PC slow down.

btw, Shareaza is open sorce and works well for bittorent's as well.
I have been using it for torrents till i was told to try Azureus, Much better.
Now Shareaza is just used for normal DL's/UL's. :D

Dang!! My show has no audio!! I'm using Roxio Player from Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 and also Media Player 10. I've renamed the files (which is weird when I reconnect to seed, it shows 99.2% done) and d/l codecs, etc. Any help?

If you've burned it to DVD and have no audio then I suspect a burn problem. If you're trying to play it from the hard drive, I would suspect a software player issue. I know that Windows Media Player will play DVDs, but I'm not sure that it'll play DVD files from the hard drive. I would suggest trying PowerDVD or WinDVD as a player to see if that works. Both are available with free trial versions online.

Windows Media Player 10 should play the files off the hard drive just fine. I have played all of the DVD's I have downloaded from here off my hard drive without a problem in Windows media player 10 and Power DVD 5.

In WMP 10 choose file>open> and choose the VIDEO_TS.IFO file and it should play from the beginning. From the beginning I mean from the DVD intro screen then it should launch you into the menu with the chapters just as if you popped a DVD in. Let me know if you continue to have problems.

Yes, for continued use you'd have to have a key, etc... However you could try one just to make sure that it's not something system-wide. (ie, if PowerDVD plays it just fine, it's an issue with WMP10/Roxio. If PowerDVD doesn't play the audio either, it's obviously something deeper in the system)

Mine just dropped into the bottom window of Azureus and started automatically seeding. That's when I knew I'd got the files.

Then I opened up Nero, selected a DVD video, DROPPED ALL OF THE FILES into the VIDEO_TS folder (yes, even the audio) and clicked burn.

Image burned fine, and I was able to watch it in my DVD player.

So, there's one thing. You need to drop all files into the VIDEO_TS folder. Don't separate the audio file and put it somewhere else.

I'm gonna d/l again. As for the 99.2%, I believe that was caused by my renaming the files that needed renaming and BitTorrent didn't acknowledge them as being part of the d/l.

Because you have to wait until you get all of the files and then rename them.

In fact, leave the originals where they are (especially as you will be reseeding later on). Copy all the files somewhere else, and then rename the files needed in order to burn.

I dunno whether this was what you did, I just got an inkling that this may have been what you did. Cuz it's best never to touch the files until they finish downloading fully.

If you didn't do this, then there's no harm in reiterating this point anyway...

naw, I d/l fully, THEN I renamed the files. I tried to play and <BONK> no audio. While I was searching for clues and answers to this dilemma, I clicked the .torrent to seed and the first thing it did was to d/l the renamed files, acting as if the files didn't exist.
I'm about 27% d/l now and will keep the thread informed as to the outcome.

Anyway, once it gets to full download, if you changed the name of the files "IN THE LOCATION THAT YOU DOWNLOADED THEM", would this mean that you wouldn't be able to seed properly, because the file names then wouldn't match up with the torrent ?

If so, then maybe this could be the problem if someone else has renamed the files and they are seeding ?

I don't know for sure, because this torrent stuff still has that essence of magic about it to me. I don't understand it, therefore it must be magic !

Anyway, just for the record, I copied all the files to a different location, renamed them in the new location, and burnt out from the new location. I left the original files intact as they are for the torrent download, as I suspected that renaming whilst seeding may screw things up.

Does anyone know whether they can be renamed whilst still seeding ? Or am I just being paranoid and speculating once again ?

Or was I right on the other sense that it is indeed magic, and it doesn't matter what you do, the torrent will magically sort everything out for you ?

HAS to be a problem when you renamed the files... if it were renamed properly, you would not have gotten that error.

If you're using a windows OS, make sure you go to the tools menu in explorer and then Internet options. Click the View tab and make sure you have UNCHECKED the "show file extentions for known file types." Then recheck the filename and make sure it isn't VTS_02_2.VOB.VOB :)

That's the only thing I can think of.

Hey, I'm sorry for being ignorant here, but I'm new at this. I had BitTornado going, and then from snooping around the site, I heard Azureus was better, so I got that instead, hoping it would speed up my download speed.

It has, but to get a dvd, it's still telling me that it will take a few days to download. (Ignorance comes here....) Is this normal? Do they all take this long? My download speed ranges anywhere from 5-20... at one point I saw it up as high as thirty. The light is green. If this is all normal, just let me know, but it seems like a really long time.

Sounds right on par. It really depends on how many people there are seeding the show... that's why you should keep your client open and help seeding when you're done, cuz it really does make a big difference in speed for everyone else.

I'll use myself as an example. I'm capped at 40kbps... used to be 30, but I talked ComCast up 10, free of charge...I'm rather proud of that :D Anyway, if I seed a torrent for everyone, I've got 40kbps total to work with... 4 upload slots available to connect directly to me... 40/10=10kbps per downloader. Two days is about normal... sometimes, depending on the reliability and connection of the seed, it could take as long as a week... I've even worked on one for two weeks strait. It's all for the ability to "host" the files, without having to spend $$ on costly web storage... the filesizes are limitless in this way :)

I checked my VIDEO_TS folder and there is no VTS_02_2.VOB with this one. I hopped on this to help seed and i'm showing 100% completed so I think there must be a problem with the way you're burning it. I've watched the whole show off my hard drive and it's all there. I haven't burned this yet. Let us know if you get it sorted out.

There's no consistancy there either, cuz I burnt with Nero 6 Ultra and only got one error... but that was because the video files were not of a logical 2kb block size... anytime the filesizes end in an odd number, Nero suggests that the DVD may not play... This happens to about half of all the DVDs I download... every one of them have played though... including this one.

I guess that I need to get into this mess with you guys....I did all the junk--renamed...etc....burned with Nero---and I watched the dvd....my copy just stopped during Eddies solo--playing it with Pwer dvd---so I will put it into a home dvd unit and see how far it plays. I will volunteer my services such as:
(A) Having to preview VH dvd's to see "if they are good"
(B) Having to attend live shows to see "if they are good"
(C) Having to taste test Cabo Wabo Tequila to see "if it is any good"

OK--fun over...but I will see if my copy plays on a home unit. I just hate to think I will have to start this one over!--thanks for everything you guys do on this site--you seriously (juju) rock!--Hawk

Hey all, I've had some problems burning this thing too. Nero starts out by saying Video allocation failed or something along those lines. After a few tries of trying to burn it by just hitting the ok button, it seems to have burned fine, but I haven't watched the entire thing yet.

I'll keep seeding for awhile, but in the meantime, maybe someone has a reason as to why I was getting these errors.

I copied all the files, changed the filenames, put the files into the Video_ts folder in Nero. I'm using Ultra, and everytime you start it, it says it has compatibility issues with XP. I've burned other things with it (CD's) and I haven't had a problem before.

Oh well, it seems to work :thumb:

Then when you burn, (if you're using Nero version 6), you may get the following in the main screen window :

I just downloaded this file, and I started seeding it, but I had to restart my computer.

I'm using Azureus, and now I am trying to seed it again, but I can't figure out how. The little smiley face is blue, and the tracker status says "connection error (Connect exception: Connection refused: connect)"

How do I start to seed again? Also, I had another one downloading, which appears to be working, other than the blue smiley face again and the same tracker error.

You're also asking for something that was seeded well over a month ago. Many people (including me, the original seeder) don't have the show on their computers anymore.
You might want to ask for a trade instead. It just might be easier in the long run. Torrents are great for getting a show out to many people, but not so good for one-to-one transfers.

There are a couple of us sitting at 12.7% on this puppy.

I was looking through my DVDs and was SHOCKED to see that I didn't have this DVD. For some reason I've always thought I got it back in July but apparently not since I don't have it. :scratch: I've passed on it quite a few times so it's a shame.

If somebody could please hop on this and seed it for us lamers who don't have the opening night dvd, it would be super-appreciated. :thumb:

I see that you need some help here--I went back and renamed my files--loaded up my torrent--I guess that I missed one because it started at 99.9% and I have burned this one--I do not think you willget any bad files from me--just wanted to give a boost here--it has completed the portion that I must of missed--I will leave this up for a good while--it is now showing me as a seed--have fun! I had stopped mine after there was no activity on it--got it back up--see 4 leeches--but it is not connecting yet--I will leave it up--not sure how this works when you can see the seed and leecher and they are not connecting?

Strange....I get notifications on this post--I see 6 leeches--but when I open my files I only managed to hook up with one...earlier I stopped it because it would not connect with any of the leeches...but I have one going now...will leave it up--just wonder if it has to do with servers that the internet travels thru ?? Hey dolphin---look back at the start of these pages where you d/l the torrent--there are instructions on changing a couple of file names. I had trouble untill I changed the file names--then it burned great--then I had to change them back so I could keep seeding--there was some sort of problem the seeder had with them--he describes it in his post and I think it may be in a text file with the torrent files---Hawk

NDL---yes--you can play it and leave it seeding--just remember to read what Ron has in his notes on the 1st post about renaming files if you go to burn it--when I did that--I burned and then went back and renamed them back to the wrong names so I could keep seeding--Hawk

Chris--I am in the process of reseeding this for you and anybody else...one thing to remember...read the notes! you have to rename 2 files in order to burn this torrent...after I burned mine..I went back and renamed them to the "wrong" name so that I can keep seeding this torrent...just thought I would drop that one on you incase you try to burn it...it will not seed if you leave if changed...it will try to d/l the files again...(voice of experience...I forgot to change the name the first time I reseeded it)--Hawk

I also would greatly appreciate this myself and am sitting at 17.3% right now myself. I'm helping share what I have as fast as I can (splitting 30k upstream between this and a seed), but it is slow going for all. (I can be patient though)

I'll see if I can up my share of what I have a bit more though. Now I always keep finished seeds going for at least a few days after, but I gotta say you guys are really amazing keeping this one going so long.

All you guys that put all these great shows up originally and then keep 'em going for so long really rule in my book, as well as those that pick 'em up and continue 'em. :rock:

Yeah I'm not surprised as they just moved the site to a new server and it'll probably take a bit to get it up and running normally again. Don't worry though, it'll get straightened out soon enough.

Just wanted to be sure that somebody was there to finish this one when it does. :yay:

Edit: Well, the tracker *seems* to be back online again but I'm not sure everything is working properly just yet. I'm connected to one other peer but since we're both at the same amount nothing's going to happen.

But... I have a few seeds also connected and while they look fine too, nothing is moving at all to 'em. Very strange. :scratch:

Could be, what I ended up doing was shutting down my client totally, after removing all torrents and then restarted it again and added 'em back fresh. They seem to be working for me now. You could try that maybe?

Maybe it needs a new torrent file to work correctly. (hopefully what is already downloaded can be used again somehow though, but maybe that's not possible either)

Edit: I think somebody with a full complete show is going to have to make a brand new torrnet and repost it, though if the files are exactly the same, I'd think it should resume where left off for everyone.

From what I've read above in the instructions I don't think the original torrent file can be made to work. (I even tried redownloading the torrnet on first page and reloading it with no luck) :dunno:
