Freakin' cool man. I'm SO glad you gave it a shot. It was your first time??? Did you think the how-to was easy to follow, or did you have trouble? Sometimes you can be almost 100% certain you didn't leave something critical out, but you can never be perfectly sure until someone successfully follows the procedure!

As for your problem, what kind of connection do you have, first of all?

if it's any kind of broadband, make sure you select "superseed" from the transfer window's pull down box.

Um, yes, they are definately slow in the beginning...sometimes even as slow as 1kbps. It is a possibility that POD GOD may not be able to pull anymore from you. He is currently my number 1 leach for the US Festival, and also my #1 peer seed for the same show. That's sucking up a lot of bandwidth. Another thing to consider is that it sometimes takes bit torrents a while to reach full speed anyway.

The how to was easy for me to follow.

I have a cable connection. Using Bittorent, I checked Super-seed from the pull down box and set the max upload rate to 100kb.

Just checked, and now there is another person connected, and is now up to a 9 to 10kb total upload speed. Guess it's true that the more people are connected, the faster it goes.

Yeah... only problem is that you'll probably cap at around 30 or so. I works like a spider web... you send 6-8 kbps to 5 or 6 people, they do the same, so on and so forth on down the line. You're really on your own until the first 1-4 people get it completed.

Like I said, we've gotta be more patient with the BTs, but I think they're worth it in the long run. :thumb:

If you leechers stay connected, you will keep the torrent alive, and continue to seed anyone who has downloaded less that you have... and you will continue to receive data from any leecher who has downloaded more than you have. Once you catch the lead leecher (or if you are it), you will stop until the seed returns.

Torrents don't "die" when all seeds leave... My US Festival boot went without a seed for about 2 hours yesterday... my computer at home got booted offline while I was at work. I went home, reconnected and it took right back off... at a snail's pace, but it took back off :D :thumb:

lol....if I had a DVD burner, I'd make copies in exchange for blanks for those who wanted it. That way you wouldn't have to wait a month to get it. :D

We are just starting out at this site and that's the worst part, everyone that's here seeding is being extremely patient and are doing it for the benefit of this site. Once things get rolling it won't be so slow but I am personally thankful to them for sticking it out.

Everything is working perfectly, you are just not understanding how torrenting works when the seeder is in super-seed mode. To understand more, look here:

Yeah, check out some of the documentation at that link (thanx gtrpts, BTW :thumb: ).... There are times when leechers farther down the line will not receive anything...this is for the long-term better good of the torrent.

The quicker a reliable base of seeds can be established, the better off the torrent will be... Then more people can benefit. However, when a torrent client in SuperSeed mode is active, it has one goal... complete one guy to get more seeds... two sharing the workload is better than one.

After he is completely done, you will have 1 regular seeder, and one superseeder. The regular will pass farther down the line, and the superseeder will immediately start sending strait to the number 3 guys... so on and so forth.

Torrents are not meant for BLAZING speed until you get enough people connected to them. The site is still young, so we're doing the best we can. There are a few people trying to seed a lot of stuff right now, so speeds aren't the best.

Just start the Bit Torrent, then go to bed or something :D Don't concern yourself with the minute to minute progress, cuz it doesn't matter :thumb: You WILL get the torrent as long as there is a seed. Just look under where the torrent is originally posted - it will tell you how many seeds are connected to that torrent at any given time.

Could someone explain what's going on with this torrent? I went to reconnect and it gave me a hash error, so I downloaded the torrent file again and it says I'm back at 0% completed. I was at 37% with the other torrent file. Nothing changed in my VIDEO_TS directories either, so this is a bit confusing.

It also showed Steve seeding again, but then he was offline quickly again.

This has been the strangest torrent I've ever been on. :scratch: :confused:

please reseed this dvd. the only way BT works well is if people keep it going. i had it open from when it first started and never got it completed... i mean, its only been half a month and this torrent is dead? thats a bummer, and poor torrent useage imo.

I have 37% like everyone else. If I got this file completed I have the ability to keep uploading it to get more seeds.

But have we given up on this one? The picture quality from the 37% I have is good.

program shows that the torrent is not found on the tracker. perhaps steve can put this back up for us and that will solve the problems.

Folks, I found the old torrent file does not work. When you try to connect it says torrent not on tracker. So then I downloaded the torrent a second time. Once I connected it changed my 37% to 62%. I still wasn't connecting to Steve. But now I am. I don't know what the state of the file is but I'll be interested to see if it works. Steve did you change the torrent so it only is disc 1? I am Dowloading and uploading. When you try to connect the new torrent to the old one-do not name the torrent file. Name the file on your pc that it originally was dl in. EX- my torrent was put in a file on my D:\ called van halen. The torrent created a file called 2 Disc Worcester DVD. When I DL the new torrent I told the torrent to go to D:\van halen. It will then start checking. This takes some time but when its done it will see what you dl and use it. If you pick 2 Disc Worcester DVD as the destination it will create a new file in that file. You will not see it checking and it will start at 0. Hope this helps some folks out there. I will keep you folks abreast of what the torrent is like once its done. :thumb:

same here. as lendef was posting, i had been doing the same and regrabbing the torrent file. my percentage jumped right away too, altho the torrent still reports a size of 7.49 gb which would = 2 dvd's.

who knows, i guess we'll see when its done if i worked or not.

Bittorrent was acting really wierd. Even though I didn't change anything in the folder, all of a sudden, it wanted to check the files every time I started it, and wasn't uploading at all. I switched back to ABC tonight, and it seems to be working now.

I'll keep the torrent going at the usual 3 or 4 pm EST until 4 or 4:30 EST everyday and we'll see how it goes.

If it keeps having problems, I'll be more than happy to close this and burn it and do trades for those who have already been trying to get it. Maybe by doing that, a couple of more people can get it seeded and it will work faster.

Not knowing anything about copying DVD's and such, I did not know to use a DVD decryptor when I copied the files to my hard drive. Being completely clueless, I just copied and pasted within Windows Explorer.

As a result of this, these files do not work. 2 guys that have already finished said they don't work. After some detective help from i814u2, I have re-copied the files to my hard drive using dvddecryptor. These new files seem to be working correctly.

What I will do, is re-seed these new files, however, I will do them as seperate discs.

I apologize to those who have spent many hours trying to get these files, but I guess I should have brushed up on the subject before jumping right in.

I will start the new seeds tomorrow afternoon.

This is Disc 1 only, just to make sure. If the first disc works, them I'll upload disc 2. If not, then I'll do some trades - for other shows or B&P.

The statistics are reading you as 99.95% completed...

One of two things have happened. Either this is a tracker glitch (which I don't see possible...we haven't encountered this, and the problem should lie in the data vs. torrent)... Or there isn't the exact amount of data there should be in the folder.

You're either going to have to re-create the torrent and try to re-attach it, or figure out what data has been moved or not saved to the same location since the creation of the torrent.

becuase it sounds like you have the old torrent file (with both cds) which is bad and pointless to download. read back a few pages in posts if you want the whole story.

the link above is for the new torrent for just dvd 1 and after that steve plans to seed dvd 2.
