Notes
Audience (1st gen video). Video quality VG+. Audio quality VG / VG+.
Taken from a 1st gen video source of a BetaMax Master->SVHS->Digital8 lineage. This is a phenomenal audience film from the 1984, especially so considering how little footage there is of that tour. The camera work is much better than on the 1982 film from the same location. The equiment is better and the zoom is much tighter than on that recording. The shot is very steady for the majority of the show and follows the band members around very well. It's amazing to see the full panoramic shots of the stage and how elaborate that set was.
While the video is fantastic, the audio recording isn't the greatest, but it is the best it is going to get. The audio is mainly lacking in high end due to the camcorder equipment of that time. There is also some wicked bass distortion that crops up during "Everybody Wants Some". The show is presented complete with the only edits being during long breaks between songs towards the end of the show. You can hear the band and the crowd is relatively low in the mix with no distracting participants near the filmer. Overall this mono recording just lacks the fidelity to rate it any higher. The show itself is a great performance in front of a very, very enthusiastic crowd.
Special features include approximately 114 minutes worth of bonus material. There are three different interviews presented in slide show fashion. On the first DVD there is the "In the Studio" 15th Anniversary special on the making of the 1984 album featuring Alex, Eddie and Michael. On the second dvd there are a pair of radio interviews. The first is a Rockline special from February 20, 1984 with David, Alex and Michael that's complete with an in studio stripper! The second radio interview is from the BBC Rock Hour series from February 5, 1984 featuring David Lee Roth in fine form. The audio companion to the DVD video release and can also be found on the dvd disc two in lossless SHN format. The artwork for the DVD and the CD versions are included on disc. All the artwork and menu's feature previously unreleased photos from the 1984 tour taken by the CBG. Lastly, the md5 checksums for the audio and video files are included on disc to facilitate accurate copying and trading.
Production specifics. The video was transfered from digital 8 tape via a Sony TRV-340 over firewire into a computer using Adobe Premier Pro. Video was then encoded with TMPGEnc at 8000kbps CBR with all settings to highest quality. Audio was digitally remastered in Adobe Audition and encoded as Dolby Digital 2.0 at 448kbps. The dvd was then authored using Sonic Scenarist.
Released in August 2004.

One thing I dont understand is,Sometimes after I have seeded all night and try to keep it going while Im at work,I get home to find out I lost My internet connection sometime just after I left for work?

Its happened to me. If you regulate your "overall" d/l and u/l speeds below what your maximum rate is you shouldn't lose your connection. I did away with setting my speeds to unlimited. For example my "overall" maximun d/l rate is around 300kB/s so i've set it to 260kB/s...my "overall" maximum u/l rate is around 70kB/s so i've set it to 60-65 kB/s.
I can't tell you if it will work for you. Just wanted to give you a suggestion that worked for me since I had a similar problem. I've been using Azureus.

[While the video is fantastic, the audio recording isn't the greatest, but it is the best it is going to get]

This is barely watchable also, during the guitar solo all i see is a glowing blob, must have something to do with that alien in the beggining :drunk:
Only YOU people here think it's great, i'd be embarrased to show this to anybody on a TV.

...wow, due to me building a house, i have been away from this site for a while- and then to come back to see a so called "vh fan" scrutinize something someone was gracious enough to share :( hey pal- there just isn't that much video of the dave era out there. when you are able to get it, be thankful- cause it ain't easy to find. maybe you should do some research on what the quality will be before you decide to d/l- i wish you would have bought this show on e-bay for about 40$

You've dissed more posts than you've downloaded. It's obvious your just being a dick because you probably have nothing else going on in your life. So you have to come here and be an idiot until the next issue of Playboy comes in. So if you don't like anything here why are you still here then? Here's a suggestion why don't you logout permanently and go out and buy officially released Roth era dvds that you can watch on your stupid plasma or whatever. Here's the deal, you don't post anymore of your childish comments until you find one. Happy searching and good luck! Oh, and by the way Video Hits Vol. 1 doesn't count. Full concerts only! Cheers!
