Here's a thread we can fuck off in while we're waiting to get this stuff working :D

... always a good idea to have a pointless bullshit thread, right??!! :D

If we can get working a-okay, I can throw up that 3cd set I have from the US Festival... be a lot quicker than posting it on the board, but man...what a great set. Judas Priest kicks ass

I forgot to mention that when we get this going remember everyone that once you have the show completly downloaded leave your windows open so that other people can get it, a good rule of thumb would be to upload as much as you download :)

Well... all's quiet... guess nobody's had any problems... yet. :D

Boy, they're slow gettin' going, but if somebody jumped in on one of those right now, it'd already be 5X faster than it was when we all started...

If we can get people interested enough to get these things moving, we'll be cookin' :thumb: Who all is d/ling what right now? I'm seeing 15 leechers spread over 2-3 torrents, but can't see who's doing what... seems to be moving on my end - a whopping 20 kbps per torrent. :D

Hey, Brat...ya made it! :thumb:

Don't be less vocal!! Input kicks ass :D And don't worry about not knowing about the BT stuff... there's gonna be a lot of people who are new at this... but it's really not tough at all! It's worth learning! Once we've got the St. Louis DVD torrent going solidly, I'm gonna post the entire US Festival in MPG format... that way everyone can get a new video, even if they don't have a DVD burner.

People should dig that :thumb:

Glad to see a forum like this run by people that know how to do it--or merely pull it off unbeknownst to the public ;)

Great to see the Looney Tunes set on the forum as I've been looking to get this for awhile now. I'll definitely stay on board after the d/l to help out the rest of the gang.

It's also nice to see a backing tracks section (shout out to guitars101?). I'll be uploading over the weekend unless I get busy here at work!

Thanks to everyone who got this place up and goin'!

Hi, gang!

This is my first post, so be gentle, amigos!

Steve here from sunny Birmingham, England! (I wish)

I found this site from a link on the VH forum, and it looks amazing! I never knew there was so much stuff available to download and share!

I'm looking forward to spending a LOT of time here with y'all!

Steve

Hehehe.....just got mine from UPS about an hour ago. Gotta buy some discs tomorrow and try it out!

At least that way, if the Worcester DVD keeps giving me problems, I'll just burn and trade. :thumb:

I got mine relatively cheap. Brand new, still sealed.NEC ND-3500A Dual Layer 16X DVD+-RW - USB 2.0 and came with 1 year warranty, and Nero 6.0 OEM Suite. Supposedly, due to the 16X, it can burn a full DVD in about 4 to 5 minutes. Can't wait to try it out! Got it for $99 plus $12 S/H.

Wow man, sounds like a great deal.

EVH5150
10.12.04, 05:36 PM
Good deal bro :thumb: And Nero 6 suite will allow you to do anything you need to do... Editing, viewing, burning, formatting and encoding. Real powerful program man :thumb:

I think your burn time will be a hair longer than expected... but you should have no problem keeping spin time to 10 minutes or under. Still kicks the hell outta my 45 minute wait

Also beware of encoding time!!!! You will learn to HATE IT. When burning video to a disc to be played in a DVD player, it has to be encoded... either when it's extracted or when it's burnt. VIDEO_TS folders are already encoded and are burn-ready. Other video formats will take nearly 4 hours (depending on cpu speed) to encode... then 10 minutes to burn, in your case.

Patience is a virtue, they say... I'm not very virtuous... but the DVD burner sure makes the wait worthwhile. I'm sure you'll LOVE your new toy ;)

So if I'm copying the Worcester DVD's to blanks, do I need to decode/encode anything?

EVH5150
10.12.04, 06:39 PM
Depends on how you do it. The easiest way is to just do a 1 for 1 copy. It takes a tiny bit longer because you have to constantly gather info from one cd, cache it, burn it, etc. If you're only doing a copy or two, that's the easiest.

If you're going to be seeding the show or making any mass copies, it's best to use Nero Vision Express and extract the disc to your HD. The coding process will take about 3-4 hours, depending. But from that point forth, it's ready for whatever you want to do with it. I immediately extract all my DVDs and then re-burn them to blank discs as direct data... that way I can make a viewable DVD, seed, watch on the PC, etc - all from the same source disc.

You pick which method is right for you :thumb:

This all sounds like a pain in the arse. I'll be filling your PM box with questions on this I can tell.

EVH5150
10.13.04, 05:20 AM
LOL, no problem, I keep it clear for you guys :thumb: You got a good deal on your drive too, strung. Like I said, mine takes about 45 minutes... it's only a 2X... but money was tight, and this one was offered at Compgeeks.com for $45.00 & no shipping. You can find some great deals on DVD burners anymore.

And don't worry about a thing... The processes are actually much more difficult to verbalize than they are to implement. Nero is pretty good about walking you through things. Burning DVDs is no different than audio CDs... you can't just copy an audio CD to the computer, it has to be extracted and encoded to some audio format... same for burning... MP3s and WAVs aren't burnt directly, their coding is changed. You just have to do the same thing for DVD files. I ruined 2 or 3 discs experimenting with mine when I got it... but I haven't had a problem figuring out how to burn anything since then :thumb:

Newbie here,
I just finished the E. Rutherford download and when I try to preview it
in NERO 6.0 I have no audio. I don't have a DVD burner yet, just a CD R CD RW would video cd format have anything to do with it.
thanx in advance,

I'm down right now trying to figure this stuff out but I will log back
on later. :dunno:

Do you have a DVD reader in the computer?? It sounds to me like you just need a decoder plugin... a codec. You should be able to download it from the nero homepage. If that doesn't work, then try downloading the demo of powerdvd... see if the problem exists there too... then we'll know if the probleem is computer-wide, or just program related.

Hope that helps :thumb:
